Basic Granola

Granola is really very simple. Raw oatmeal (not instant or pre-cooked), brown sugar and water are the primary ingredients. For a sticky granola or cookies, use molasses or honey instead of brown sugar and shape into cookies before baking. This recipe is good-tasting, but you can freely add or subtract ingredients for different tastes. Coconut, raisins, pecans, cinnamon, dates, dried fruit are just a few of the things that go well in granola.

Mix together in a large bowl

  • 3 c OATMEAL
  • ½ c BROWN SUGAR
  • ¼ c WHEAT GERM
  • ¼ c SESAME SEEDS
  • ¼ c BLANCHED ALMONDS
  • ¼ c WATER
  • 1 t VANILLA

Spread on cookie sheet lined with baking parchment and bake 2025 minutes at 350 degrees until toasted.
